*YOUTH CRISES AWARENESS AND PEACE FORUM*
From the office of:
DIRECTOR FOR SCHOOL AND STUDENTS AFFAIRS (OGUN STATE CHAPTER)
*YCAPF CONDEM THE KILLING OF YOUTH/STUDENTS BY CUSTOMS IN YEWA LAND*
My heart is heavy and feel sad hearing about the death of our dear brother Ridwan Bello,an SSS2 student of Area community High School, Owode-yewa who died after being hit by a stray bullet from a sporadic shooting by a custom officer during a raid in a house in Owode-yewa around 8am, on 30th April 2020.
This is not the time a parent should experience something like this in this hard time. The prayer of every parent is to eat the fruit of their labour and should be buried by their child.
This is an act of indiscipline and incompetency on the side of the government agency(NCS) to have release a rapid bullet withing the community. It was on record that a youth group in pokia local government had an independence peace walk on October 1st 2019 claiming to write to all security agencies stationed in the most peaceful local government in OGUN State.
The youth claimed that about 100residents of the area have died in the last five years in series of clashed with security agencies over smuggling activities, but the men of the Nigeria Customs Service NCS we’re informed but they refused to solidarise with the youth while all others (security agencies) showed respect and love by joining, even in the rain.
This is not the first time this is happening within the community and with this they have demonstrated that perhaps some of them are not fit to handle ammunitions and need to be re-trained.
It's hight time we stop seeing our youth and students been killed by sets of untrained and unskilled men in uniform.
I commiserate with the family of the deceased and may the soul of Ridwan Bello rest in perfect peace,Amen.
At this point we call on the government to take a drastic step concerning this issue or else we will be forced to use our strength and power against the Nigeria custom service.
YCAPF OGUN STATE say ‘NO’ to killing of our people. Failure on the side of the custom officials henceforth will be treated in an Aluta way and this will surely be an eyesore to the entire world.
Injustice to One !
Injustice to All !!!
